Gold prices were trading lower in major metros of India on Thursday. In national capital, prices of 24-carat gold per 10 gram shed by Rs 30 at Rs 25830 and rates of 22-carat fell by Rs 30 at Rs 24390.
Gold was treading water on Thursday as investors stuck to the sidelines ahead of a widely anticipated US interest rate hike next week, with even a slump in the dollar failing to trigger interest in the metal, reported Reuters. Gold prices on MCX were trading lower on Thursday. At 13:26 hrs MCX Gold February contract was trading at Rs 25475 down Rs 127, or 0.50 percent. The Gold rate touched an intraday high of Rs 25544 and an intraday low of Rs 25460. So far 2756 contracts have been traded. Gold prices have moved down Rs 955, or 3.61 percent in the February series so far.
