The BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty opened in red on Friday tracking weak global markets. Sensex opened 76.56 points down at 25,810.06, while NSE Nifty50 index opened 46.55 points down at 7,817.60.
The 30-share index was trading at 25,681, down 204 points or 0.79 per cent. It touched a high of 26,810.06 and a low of 25,644.35 in morning trade.
The Nifty50 was at 7,801, down 62 points or 0.80 per cent. It touched a high of 7,819.25 and a low of 7,787.70 in the first 30 minutes of trade.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was down 0.05 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.15 per cent lower.
