Sensex gains over 100 pts, Nifty hits 8100; GAIL falls 3% -- 4 Nov 2015

Tata Motors, Hindalco, Tata Steel, SBI and ONGC are top gainers while GAIL is down 3 percent.

                                               
The market has opened on higher terrain. The Sensex is up 177.15 points or 0.7 percent at 26767.74 and the Nifty is up 47.30 points or 0.59% at 8108.00. About 460 shares have advanced, 76 shares declined, and 22 shares are unchanged. Tata Motors, Hindalco, Tata Steel, SBI and ONGC are top gainers while GAIL is down 3 percent. The Indian rupee opened with a marginal gains of 9 paise at 65.56 per dollar against 65.65 Tuesday. NS Venkatesh of IDBI Bank said, "Rupee weakness yesterday was on account of dollar strengthening against major currencies and dollar demand by custodial banks. Expect the same trend to continue today." The dollar hold on to modest gains having firmed against the euro and yen as on rising treasury yields. Asian stocks rallied early due to positive lead from Wall Street,  stellar debut from Japan Post's units fueled risk appetite in the region and firmer crude oil prices. Overnight, a fifth straight day of gains for energy counters alongside a rise in tech majors helped propel major US averages.
