Sensex starts on a cautious note; Nifty holds 7,800; Pfizer surges 6%, Hindalco down 3% --- 24 Nov 2015

Domestic equity markets opened marginally in red taking cues from global markets. Sensex opened 33.73 points down at 25,785.61. Nifty opened 12.25 points down 7,837.

                             
The 30-share index was trading at 25,780, down 40 points or 0.15 per cent. It touched a high of 25,833.42 and a low of 25,703.86 in morning trade.

The Nifty50 was at 7,835, down 14 points or 0.18 per cent. It touched a high of 7,839.75 and a low of 7,812.65 in the first 30 minutes of trade.

The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.25 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.33 per cent higher. 

Wipro (up 1 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 0.7 per cent), Coal India (up 0.60 per cent), and Axis Bank (up 0.44 per cent) were among the major Sensex gainers. 

Sun Pharma (down 1.2 per cent), ITC (down 1.04 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 0.94 per cent), Dr Reddy's Laboratories (down 0.76 per cent), and GAIL India (down 0.71 per cent) were among the major Sensex losers.
