Domestic equity markets opened on a positive note on Monday taking cues from global markets. Sensex opened 76.65 points up at 25,945.14. Nifty opened 12.95 points up at 7,869.50.
Sensex was up 11.18 points at 25,879. Nifty was up 1.60 points at 7,858. In the 50-share index, Adani Ports, Asian Paints and Bajaj Auto were up 1.82 per cent, 1.27 per cent and 1.02 per cent, respectively.
The 30-share index was trading at 25,856, down 12 points or 0.05 per cent. It touched a high of 25,958.04 and a low of 25,846.73 in morning trade.
The Nifty50 was at 7,853, down 3.1 points or 0.04 per cent. It touched a high of 7,872.25 and a low of 7,850.85 in the first 30 minutes of trade.
The S&P BSE Midcap Index was up 0.37 per cent and BSE S&P Smallcap Index was trading 0.51 per cent higher.
